So, his mood was lightened quit a noticeable amount by Gavin. Even if Gavin had been the one to make his mood down in the first place. Well, not entirely. it was Will's own stupid fault that he thought there might possibly be a chance, but when he looked into it deep enough, it just made him sad. He wouldn't ever have him, so it was just a slightly depressing though at the moment. But, Gavin was being more hyper than Will, and he had to admit that it was rubbing off on him. He'd just have to get over his previous thoughts and go back to being happy. It sounded easy enough, but Will wannest so sure if it would be. But, he had to admit Gavin's turning into Captain Obvious was quite amusing. He nodded, smirking slightly as he did so. "I guess we're both not complete idiots, eh?" he nudged him before letting a small laugh escape his lips.

Gavin's grin widened slightly, and he was obviously pleased that Will seemed a lot more cheerful. He was laughing now after all "Yeah! I mean, we're partial idiots. Morons maybe. But complete idiots? Not us!" He agreed cheerily before looking around. His eyes quickly fell on the familiar starbucks logo on a window and his grin widened still further, by this point he was practically grinning ear to ear. "Coffee! Coffee coffee coffee!" He cheered, obviously extremely excited by the idea of getting caffeine into his system. Not that it seemed necessary, judging by the amount of energy he had mustered just to yell with joy at the idea of coffee. He was plainly pretty hyper, even though only about twenty minutes before he had still been pretty much half asleep. Perhaps simply the draw of coffee is enough to wake someone up considerably.

So, Gavin was a good person. This is a random statement to suddenly appear in one's head, but it had done so in Will's. Gavin had noticed Will's sadness and attempted to cheer him up, with surprisingly good effects. Will couldn't' stop smiling now, thanks to Gavin. If Gavin had been a bad person, he'd feed off Will's sadness to make himself feel better. And that, obviously, was not the case. He'd already helped him tremendously, in more ways than one, in the past two days. Even if he'd also been the cause of his disappointment. But, he could be over that. He was over that. Right? He tried to stop thinking about it and smiled excitedly as Gavin jumped about the coffee. That definitely wasn't something he'd expected from Gavin. "Wow. I'd never thought I'd say this to anyone, ever, but I think you're more hyper than I am," he giggled as they neared the entrance of the million dollar coffee shop. "How did that happen?" he asked, to both himself and Gavin.

Will was giggling now. That was a great sign, much better than the sad sigh of only a few minutes before. It was true, Gavin was pretty hyper. He wasn't normally this hyper. He was always energetic, but not what one would call hyper. He really only became hyper when he was happy, or in this case, at the thought of coffee. "Well, I'm in a happy mood so I'm hyper. Plus, I mean, coffee." He explained to Will with a grin. He didn't even really know why he was all that happy, except perhaps, for the fact that he just enjoyed being in William's company. In fact, this was the first time he had been happy around anyone since his family had moved up here in the first place. And he admitted, he kind of liked him. Still, he knew all they would ever be was friends, because why on earth would Will like him? Gavin probably wasn't his type. Besides, he probably had a boyfriend, a question that Gavin had neglected to ask. He would just have to enjoy him as a friend. Once Gavin got himself a girlfriend he would forget about him that way anyway. He was sure of it.

Will was normally always hyper. He'd spent more of his teenage life being hyper than not being so. He just tended to look at life optimistically, making him normally be in a happy mood. And, happy moods resulted in hyperness, as Gavin had stated. In so many words. But, Will simply was a hyper boy most times, most of the time, not being the result of caffeine. He was simply hyper and full of life. Once again, this was most of the time. Though, not mornings right after and awful hang over. Though, he hyperness and happiness was creeping back upon him slowly. Plus, the prospect of coffee was another particularly happy thing to be looking forward to. But, there was one small thing that wasn't really making sense to him. He looked at Gavin, slightly thoughtful as they got even closer to the entrance. "Wait, but don't people normally get hyper after coffee?" he asked, somewhat confused. He was pretty sure that's how it went, but it seemed that Gavin got hyper just thinking about it. He found this just a little odd, but brushed it off. It was actually kind of funny, and odd.

Gavin considered what Will had said. He did have a point. Coffee was usually what gave people hyperness. "Let me rephrase that. I'm hyper because I'm happy, and I'm excited for the coffee, so that adds to my hyperness." He explained. This seemed to make a lot more sense to him, and he hoped it made more sense to Will too. They had reached the door by now, and he opened it and headed in, making sure to hold it open long enought for Will to get through too. HE didn't really even notice that he was pulling the whole gentleman thing, holding open doors, but he sort of was. If he noticed he probably would have stopped immediately for fear that Will would guess what had been going through his mind lately.

Will laughed and nodded. "OK, I get it now." Yeah, that made quite a bit more sense, although, it could be confusing if you weren't really paying attention. But, Will was paying attention, so it had made plenty of sense to him. He didn't really like not understanding things, so he was glad that he really did actually understand this. Though, there had been some things said by Gavin earlier that he hadn't quite gotten. And, there would probably be more in the future. Whether it was his inability to pay attention for long, or Gavin's inability to always make sense, it would undoubtedly happen again.
Will nodded in thanks as Gavin opened the door for him once again, but thought about this to himself. No, he had to stop thinking optimistically about this. Gavin was just being polite. Unfortunately that was all. Will sighed, but quickly turned it into an inhale as he took in the familiar scent of Starbucks coffee. "Mmmmmm," he said happily. "Smells so good," he added as he walked toward the remotely short line.

"Hell yeah it does." Gavin agreed, referring to the smell. "That's because coffee is one of the single greatest smells on earth." He headed over to the counter and looked up at the board showing the different coffees and such. Eventually he chose just a simple, ordinary coffee, and one of the cheaper ones. He did this partially because he liked good old fashion coffee much better than starbucks' fancy blends, and partly because he didn't want Will to spend a lot of money on him. He wasn't really sure why, considering he had spent quite a bit on Will the night before, but he had this hatred of the idea of Will really paying for a lot of things for him. Probably because he liked Will a lot, and he never liked being paid for, even when it was by someone he really disliked. He always felt much better paying for himself, and the fact that he liked Will multiplied this feeling by several times.

"So true," Will nodded once more. He adored the smell of coffee. There was simply something amazing about it. It made you feel relaxed, just the opposite of what it did to you. It was supposed to wake you up, not make you want to sleep. Though, that's what the smell did to Will. Will looked through the selections of different coffee's before settling on Hazelnut. It was quite delicious, he'd had it a few times in the past. It, and the regular kind were his favorite, but he decided for something a little more flavorful that day. He looked at Gavin oddly after he made he said his choice, Will made his own quickly before looking back at Gavin. "You could have gotten anything you wanted, you know? I owe you a lot more than one coffee. You sure you don't want like... a scone or something?" he asked, somewhat hopefully. He really wanted to pay him back, but Gavin wasn't going to accept it. The least he could do was make sure Gavin got exactly what he wanted at Starbucks.

Gavin gave a slight scone. "I already ate a bowl of cereal and a pop tart and I woke up like, an hour ago." He reminded. "I'm a guy, not a black hole. And yeah, I like regular old coffee best." It was true, he certainly wasn't hungry anymore. He could eat a lot normally, but after a night of drinking, a bowl of crispix and a pop tart was more than enough. And he really did like the cheapest coffee best. "I like to get just the regular and maybe add some of those powdered flavors they have by the napkins and stuff if I feel like something a little different." He explained. Will seemed to really want to get him more than just the coffee though, so he relented. "Well, how bout this?" He picked up a little container of that delicious vanilla gum starbucks sells right at the front counter.

Yeah, Gavin had already eaten breakfast, but scone was the first thing that came to his mind when he thought of something else to buy at Starbucks. Now he had never personally had one of their scones, considering they were packed with calories, but he knew that they had them. He'd seen a lot of people eating them, so that was basically the only reason he'd suggested it. And, because he couldn't think of anything else that wasn't a drink, and he'd already ordered that. And, there were powdered flavors that were always good, so it didn't technically have to be plain coffee. Even if it did have to be the least expensive thing. Will ran a hand through his hair as he looked down at the inexpensive gum. Not quite what he was expecting, and it wasn't going to make him feel much better, but it helped a little. "Fine," he sighed, taking the gum from Gavin's hand and giving it to the cashier. "But, I'm still not going to forget about it," he said in almost a warning tone. He paid the cashier before looking back at Gavin. Why did he have to be cute? Will was pretty sure that he wasn't someone that he'd normally go for, but there was just something about Gavin... Maybe it was just the fact that he couldn't have him. No, it was more than that. Will looked away as they headed for the little area where you waited for your drinks.

Gavin gave him a smile that could either be considered cute or infuriating, then peeled the plastic off of the tin containing the gum. He opened the container, popped out a piece of gum, and put it in his mouth before chewing. "God, this gum is like, the best stuff on earth. They discontinued it at my old starbucks. God knows why, the horrible bastards." He seemed genuinely upset at the fact that his old starbucks had canceled his flavor of gum. "Want a piece?" He offered pleasantly, popping open the container again and holding it out to pour a piece onto Will's hand if he accepted. He couldn't help noticing that Will seemed a little preoccupied, but he didn't question what that was about. Then he remembered something that had come to mind earlier. "Hey, I have a question." He said before he could stop himself. Crap. This was bound to be sort of awkward. He would have to play it extremely casual to get away with it.

Will had never heard any one talk about gum in such a way. Normally, gum was just gum. Chewy stuff that preoccupied your mouth when you weren't talking and had many different flavors. He'd never heard anyone feel strongly about gum in the way that Gavin had said it. Will smiled as Gavin got slightly worked up about not having the gum at his old Starubucks. Damn, it had to be good. Will hesitated before holding his hand out. "Sure, thanks," he said with a shrug. It was a tiny piece of gum, what could it hurt? Well, a lot, but if he could start with gum, maybe he could start eating more of other stuff. Just... not too quickly. It would be terribly hard to do. Will put the gum in his mouth slowly, and began to chew. Whoa, it really was good. He continued to chew it as he heard Gavin's statement. A question... If you had to tell a person you had a question, it wasn't always a good thing that would be asked. But, Will nodded and said,"Shoot." He cringed at this. He hated when people said shoot, but he'd done it. "I mean, yeah, sure. Unless it's about ninjas or pirates. 'Cause I don't really want to think about them again," he smiled. There, that was better.

Gavin smiled, knowing from Will's expression that he too had learned the joy of vanilla starbucks gum. It really was truly delicious, just damn good stuff. But then Will had replied to his stupid statement that he had a question, and he snapped out of his gum daze and back to being annoyed with himself for letting that one little sentence escape. Laughing slightly at the comment about ninjas and pirates, he continued. "Well, it occurred to me that... I asked if you had a girlfriend, and when you said you liked guys I just sort of changed the subject." Yes this was awkward, and not even Will's ninja/pirate joke was saving it from its fate of awkwardness. "And then I realized that was kind of impolite. I mean, I should have followed that with asking if you have a boyfriend then. So I'm fixing that now. Do you?" He hope this came across as purely curiosity, rather than a rather burning question that the little voice had returned to make him ask.

Well, at least it wasn't going to be about pirates or ninjas, that was a good thing. He chewed the gum some more, watching Gavin as he began to ask him. Once Gavin had gotten the question out, Will just kind of stood there blankly. did he detect a hint of...hopefuless in his voice? No... no he definitely didn't. It was plain and simple curiosity, just Gavin being polite again; caring somewhat about Will's life. Or, at least pretending to. Which, was almost as good. Though, he wasn't sure if it was genuine curiosity or not. But, even so, Will didn't particularly want to tell Gavin about his...relashionships. Or, past ones, at least. Or actually, his past ONE. Will looked down, scratching the back of his neck again, before looking up. "Uhm, no. Not since Ja-," he began to say Jasper, but stopped himself quickly. "I mean, not since I moved here...two years ago." Will shrugged, crossing his arms. His heart had been broken once, and he was scared of having it broken again. Maybe that was the entire reason he hadn't found another guy yet. He'd been guarding himself.
