Judging by the long silence on Will's part, Gavin had a feeling he was putting as much thought into pirates and ninjas as Gavin had over starbucks. This was understandable, as ninjas and pirates were quite the easy subject to get carried away with. Pirates were bad of course, but they also had such a weird awesomeness about them. It was almost like they were the rock stars of the old days. It was easy to almost envy them. Same with Ninjas, they could be bad or good, they were so complicated. It was just occurring to Gavin that he was zoning out on a random subject again when he heard William speak, and suddenly felt a gentle punch on the arm. He felt confused, but after a moment managed to register what Will has said. "Hey, I don't know what your talking about I'm the definition of being chill." He laughed and sort of playfully punched him back.

They both seemed to be looking very deeply into this pirate and ninja matter. But, they were both terrifyingly interesting subjects. You could read so much into either one, and probably never run out of interesting facts. Both stealthy and smart and cunning. Int their own ways, role models. Except, not at all. Except for at Halloween, when the kids dressed as pirates and ninjas often. They always looked so adorable, but if there was a real group of little demonic ninja and pirate children, well the world would be a scarier place than it already was. OK, he needed to stop thinking about this so much. He waited for Gavin's reaction, but realized that it was a little delayed. But, when he did retaliate, Will gave him a sarcastic smile. "Of course you are," he said, biting his tongue to keep himself from laughing. Yeah, Gavin hadn't really chilled for the last few hours, Will had noticed. He got nervous over small things, but maybe it really was just the way he was. Even if Will still really, really doubted it.

Gavin faked a glare at him, trying to put on a face that would pass for angry. "I detected a hint of sarcasm there Will. I don't take kindly to sarcasm." He informed him, still pretending to be angry. Once again, he refused to admit to himself that a lot of the fake glare was just an excuse to look at him without Will really noticing. He figured he was doing a lot better with his nervousness now anyway. He certainly wasn't rambling anymore, and he hadn't blushed in a while. He took those as good signs. Still, he couldn't stop himself keeping up the glare just to look at him. And that didn't strike him as a very good sign. In fact, it struck him as a sign that he was in some very deep shit, and he didn't know what to do about it. The little voice, informed him that he liked Will and should just admit it. He grumbled at the voice, and informed it that fine, maybe he did a little, but it was just temporary insanity and that was all. It was sure to go away. The voice seemed pleased, and informed him that he was taking some steps in the right direction, even if he was still obviously in denial.

Will held his hands up in protest, but knew it would do nothing. Gavin continued right on through to glare at him. At first, Will was slightly convinced that he meant it, that he really was very sensitive when it came t sarcasm. OK, so Will doubted that Gavin would use the word sensitive for it, but whatever he would, it meant the same thing that Will was thinking. Will looked right back at him as they walked, wondering what he could possibly have done to deserve such an angry stare. He looked away, and looked back at Gavin. He still had the same look on his face. OK, it was obviously a joke. Will closed his eyes, chuckling, before opening them and looking back at Gavin, who by this time had stopped glaring at him and seemed to be saying something to himself. "Hey, you said that you didn't talk to yourself all the time, and I believed you," Will said dubiously. "I'm not so sure that I should have." Of course he was joking, but he was still pretty certain that Gavin really was once again talking to himself. Why did he do that?!

"I don't talk to myself all the time!" Gavin insisted quickly. God dammit, how was he talking out loud AGAIN? He needed to learn to keep his thoughts in his head and out of his mouth. "I just, I dunno, have been like, the past day." His old blush had returned, and he swore, this time careful to keep said swear in his head. He didn't need to do anything more to make a complete fool of himself, he figured he'd already done enough. Will probably thought he was a nut case and a freak. Gavin could always get anything and anybody he wanted, easy, and now when he found someone that he REALLY wanted, he seemed like a nut case and probably had no chance. ...someone he really wanted? What was wrong with him? He didn't want him. He was insane. Insane. He didn't like the guy that much. No, not that much he didn't like him period. The little voice gave a sort of sigh, and he screamed 'FINE! Fine I like him and I like him a lot! But it's not like I have a chance anyway!' Of course, he was lucky enough to scream this in his head, not out loud. The voice was very, very pleased.

Gavin actually seemed like he was somewhat upset about this, so Will wasn't going to push it any farther. That would be cruel, and rude to Gavin. He simply said,"OK." It was probably just his own personal stuff that Will was just sort of sitting in the middle of. But, why would have it just been the past day if it was something personal? Wait, the past day, Will was the only one who'd been with him that day. Oh god, here he went, being hopeful again. Gavin wouldn't be mumbling under his breath about Will, and even if he was, it wasn't something about Gavin liking him, right? No, it couldn't have been. Gavin was straight, completely, and couldn't want Will. Ever. Damn, life was so complicated. It got your hopes up and let the, down. You were never sure what would happen the next day. But, Will knew that he and Gavin could never work. He had completely convinced himself of this. So, rather than smiling or pondering Gavin's blush, he looked down at the ground in front of him sadly. He sighed to himself a very soft sigh, before looking up, still straight ahead, when he recognized something. "We're only a street from downtown," he said with a smile. Most times, he'd be much more excited about this, probably would have jumped a few times. But, at the current moment, he wasn't in the mood to be tremendously happy.

Was it just him, or did Will suddenly seem a lot less happy, and a lot more downcast? He turned to look at him, and saw that he did, indeed look sad. The way he was staring straight at the ground, and the little sigh that escaped proved this. Gavin didn't know quite what to do. Was he the one that had caused this sudden sadness? How? And what could he do to help? Before he could contemplate it further, Will spoke up again, telling him that they were close to downtown. He looked around, and found that he did, indeed, recognize where they were. "Hey, I think your right!" He said, before looking at his watch. "And it took fifteen minutes, I was just about right." He chanced a grin at Will in the hopes of maybe cheering him up a little. He had always found that if other people acted cheerful around him when he was down, it usually became contagious.

He was guessing that Gavin had noticed his sudden mood change because he could feel his eyes on him again. Will wasn't entirely sure why it had all of a sudden hit him that it really couldn't work between them, but it had, and it put him into an automatic gloomy mood. He'd at least had a little bit of optimism before, even though the signs pointed much for to Gavin not liking him ever than the other way around. But, once Will convinced himself of something, it was almost impossible to make him think otherwise. So, now that he knew there was no chance, he just couldn't' be positively happy. Though, Gavin's upbeat mood helped slightly. He wondered if he was doing it to try to cheer him up. But, he didn't particularly want him to know that he was sad and disappointed, even though it was kind of blatantly obvious. Will smiled slightly back at him and nodded. "See, you're not as stupid as you think you are." Eh, he might as well joke. Lighten the overall mood as well as his own.

"Your right! I mean, I'm still stupid but I'm not THAT stupid." Gavin joked back, glad that Will seemed to be a little more cheerful. If he could joke, he couldn't be as sad as he had seemed a second ago. If the unhappy mood kept up, Gavin would probably ask what was wrong, but for the time being he decided to leave Will alone for the most part. He knew when he was unhappy he didn't like to be bothered or questioned about it, so he would let Will be for as long as he could stand to. He looked away from his friend again, and spotted a few shops and restaurants that told him they had now pretty much reached the downtown area. "Hey! Look, we were both right we are there!" He said, pointing. The fact that they had both known they were close, and the fact that the shops were quite obviously in clear view didn't matter to him. He still pointed it out, no matter how obvious doing so was.
