Soft padding, then silence as Kelly leaned over the edge of the peir, looking down at the waves crashing onto the pillars supporting the pier.
She smiled. She liked coming out here, considering her house was boring enough. Her plaid pink&black skirt blew slighty in the breeze, and revealed only a patterned flower on her bathing suit bottom. She was wearing just her black top, and was now playing with a hanging string.
She sighed, and finished the end of her ice cream cone. Bordem settled in once more. [/size]

Not far off down the pier, Sid sat by himself, basically ignoring the world around him. His eyes were shut tightly, and the sounds of the breeze and the waves were cut off by the rather large headphones on his ears, which were blasting music loud enough to be heard several feet away. The music in question was the simple three chord melodies of the Ramones, currently. Sid's face was placid, as if he didn't have a care in the world, and quite honestly, he didn't. He had his music, and that was purely all he needed. Music and the feel of a pleasant breeze on his skin. So his mother said she worried about him and he needed friends. So what? He had friends. His friends where his guitar, and the simple power chords that were blasting his ears.

Kelly looked around her, and caught the tune of a song.
So she listened, and recognized it. Rockaway Beach [[it's stuck in my head]]. She smiled, and started singing along to it as she fainty heard it.
She would mess up every once in a while, due to the wind that was picking up on the beach. She looked around, and found the source of the music.
She walked over to the boy, and kicked him softly. "Loud enough for ya?" she asked, a smile on her face.

Sid scowled up at her, freeing one of his ears from the headphones and leaving the other in place. "Excuse me, may I ask why you felt the need to kick me?" He questioned crabbily. Yeah, he could be a real charmer sometimes. "Because all I was doing was minding my own business and you apparently felt the need to bother me." He wasn't normally so unpleasant toward people, but his music was something you did not want to mess with. Not to mention tonight he was already in an extremely bad mood, what with the news that he was being sent to board, even though he lived right near the school he was now being sent to. Just wonderful.

Kelly took no notice of his crabbiness, she seemed to deal with enough of it already.
"For one, I barely tapped you, so, you can stop being so dramatic. Secondly, I just asked you a simple question because I recognized the song and wanted to maybe talk. Is that such a big issue?" she replied, keeping a calm voice as she did so.
She looked at the boy infront of her, and immediatley loved his hair. [[Beej's best feature always]]

Sid looked vaguely like he'd been slapped, and his scowl was quickly paired with a glare. He obviously didn't like being talked back to. "I'm not being fucking dramatic." He informed her in a low growl, getting to his feet so that he was more on a level with her and tearing his headphones off of his head. "And yeah, maybe it is a big issue with me!" He didn't take kindly to being informed that he was basically being a drama queen. Not to mention he was more than a little bit shocked. Normally an angry word from him was enough to make people back off. In the case of this girl though? It wasn't. That freaked him out and turned to anger on his part.

More on level? She's barely 5 feet.
Kelly looked up slighty at the boy. Obviously he was trying to get her to back off, but she was defending herself...considering she did barely anything to piss him off that bad.
"Well, I don't see how it was such a big issue. I came over, asked you if your music was loud enough, laughed, then was GOING to talk about music considering I love the Ramones myself, but apparently doing so would make life a living hell for you? Alright then."
You wanna fight her? She'll bitch ya right back.

Sid gave her a rather dangerous looking glared, then finally seemed to relent. "...fine." He grumbled, still obviously the same crabby fellow. "Whatever. My bad I guess." He promptly sat down again and stared in a random direction. Yeah, he was pretending she wasn't there. Who ever said he was mature? He was basically a childish, immature, and angry individual, and he tended to take that out on the world around him or, in this case, a perfectly innocent girl that had simply tried to talk to him about music. Nice guy, huh?

Kelly smiled. She liked winning the battle of tempers, considering she had grown a strong one herself lately.
"Alright then, well, are you a fan of the Ramones? Also, my names Kelly by the way." she said, trying her damnest to be polite now.
[[Eh, writers block... damn]]

"Duh." Sid replied to her first question. If she was playing the game of politeness, he would play the game of impoliteness and one word answers. "And Sid." He replied to her second. He still refused to look at her, gazing instead out across the water, even though he didn't really take in the view. Natural beauty never really meant much to him. He could look at the most spectacular view and not be fazed in the slightest. In fact, he was often bored by sights others considered to be brilliant. Beauty to him could be found in dirty little clubs and old scratchy vinyl records.

"Descriptive. What other music to you listen to?" she asked.
She honestly didn't care if he couldn't stand her, she was bored and would do dman well what she pleased.
"And, nice to meet you Sid." she said, trying to keep politness somewhere in this bland conversation.
She glanced up, and looked at his hair for a moment before looking back out at ocean.
Dude, common, the hair is awesome.

"Punk and glam." He replied, still being his amazingly descriptive self. It wasn't so much that he couldn't stand her as that he just couldn't stand anything right now. If he'd met her another day he might have even been friendly to her. As it is, he certainly wasn't. He looked at her finally, giving her a wierd look. Was it just him or did she keep staring at his hair? That bugged him a lot, not that he had any reason for it to bug him. "what's so interesting about my hair?" He grumbled.

"Huh? Ohh, I just like the way it's styled, it looks cool." she said, smiling. "Oh, really? Awesome, I like the same kind of shit... more punk then glam but still." she said, loving that she found someone cool. He looked very irritated...maybe not because of her but something else. So, she continued talking about something that interested them both. "Do you like the Dead Kennedys? They're fucking awesome." she said.

Sid gave a slight shrug. "They're good. I like their sound but I don't really like Jello's vocals." He gave a shrug. "More into the Clash and the New York Dolls. A bit of the Pistols and stuff like Bowie too." It was amazing how he opened up when the subject turned to music. Rather than the one word answers, he was actually talking as if he had an interest in the conversation. Music was one thing that he could talk about forever and never get tired of. It was his life, and he lived and breathed it. This subject could never possibly run dry.

"I agree with the vocals, and I love the Clash, but I haven't heard to much of the Dolls yet, still begining to listen to them." she said. She could agree, music was one subject that would never run dry, because it was an endless subject basically. She kept going on. "The Pistols are another great band." she added.
