He listened, unsure really what to say. He had never really been one to press people about things in their past. It just seemed a rude thing to do. He might occasionally offer to listen if they want to talk, but he would never push people to. He was there when they wanted to and there when they didn't. That was just how Holden had always been. Being pretty loyal, he had always managed to make friends even with his short stays in places. "Yeah. The past is the past." He said finally shrugging.

Krystal nodded at what he said. "I agree, 100 percent..." she said softly smiling. He seemed really sweet. She continued to smile and then look out into the water once again sighing happily. She bit her lip, trying to think of something to say. She wanted to ask about his religion, but hated when people blew up about it trying to act like Christians try to push their religion on everyone, so, she descided it was best to keep her mouth shut.

Not asking about his religion was probably a good idea. Holden was rather outspoken about his idea of religion, which was somewhere between agnostic and atheist. He wasn't POSITIVE there was no such thing as god, but he was pretty damn sure that god didn't exist. It wasn't exactly that he didn't want faith either. In fact, he wished he could have faith in something, perhaps beyond all other wishes he had. Try as he might though, he couldn't. And he really had tried. He had studied Christianity, Buddhism, even things like the Hare Krishna's, and hadn't found a plausible faith. Sometimes it really saddened him, the thought that humans were just like any other animal, and that when death came that would be it. He didn't know what to say to fill the silence though, so he just kept quiet.

Krystal bit her lip, not being able to not ask. "What is your belief on..." she hesitated, then continued. "Religion?" she added in. She couldn't just NOT ask. It was her nature. She asked anyone that question. With her, as for 'evolution', she couldn't stand it. Humans are not monkeys. Plus, she really dislikes people that are Christian and that believe animals as for dogs, would just rot in the ground. She glanced over at him, and then at the sand, a relieved look sprang across her face as she was glad to ask. Of course, she had to ask, it was her right.... right? Well, anyways, how could anything be here, it's proven there's a God! In the Bible it simply states that God cursed the snake to crawl on it's belly and breath the dust from the ground, and there has been ex-rays of snakes with skeletons that looked like they had had legs before. There we go, proven, well, to her.

Holden thought how to tackle this question. Religion could be a touchy subject, and he didn't want to make any enemies. Still, he had his beliefs and he was honest about them. "Well, I'm agnostic I guess. Agnostic leaning toward atheist." If she had a problem with that, she would just have to deal with it. He believed in evolution too. In his opinion, there was no other explanation for the history of the planet. The animals that lived today were completely different from what lived millions of years ago. How else could that be explained?

Krystal nodded softly. "Ah..." she said smiling. She then yawned softly. Wondering if he would ask her belief, if so... she'd tell him, no big deal to her. She isn't the type of girl that will hate a non-Christian, she has many friends with different beliefs. She just simply, well, stuck to her belief that there was a God, and he greated the earth. Then again, that was her opinion, and she wasn't going to jump anyone for there's.

Holden didn't reply by asking about her beliefs. He figured that topic of conversation was over, and he really didn't want to keep it up. Instead, he changed the subject. "So... what kind of music do you like?" He didn't ask if she liked music. He'd been asked that before and it always confused him. Who could possibly not like music? For Holden, it was never a question of whether a person liked music, just what kind they liked.

Krystal smiled at his topic. Oh God, music, she couldn't possibly live without it! "Oh God..." she said smiling, giggling softly. "I'm weird with varieties, i don't blame you if you completely ignore me when I start rambling." she said smiling at him. "Um, well... Rock, punk, emo, screamo, heavy metal, metal, um, and all the shit in that catagory!" she said shrugging. "Well, basically, all types of rock and metal ingeneral!" she said smiling. "My favorite bands are Metallica and Skid Row. Older rock and metal." she shrugged. "What about you?" she asked glancing at him.
Ah yes. At first look, you wouldn't assume that Krystal would be the type of girl you see wearing baggy gothic pants, black make-up and nail polish, but, yeah.. that's her. Goth was considered her style. Although, she doesn't have a 'clique' she's just her. Normally, she was the bitch that would tell off all the preps. Causing all the so called 'popular' kids to dislike her, which, she didn't seem to mind. She's the kindof girl to wear tight jeans with holes and paint splatter to a prom, which, she has before, along with her bad teeshirt.

"Ruck and punk, pop punk. That kinda stuff. Even some folk and rap. My tastes are kinda ecclectic..." He said. He loved music, though it was true, his tastes were weird. He loved everything from the Beatles to Gym Class Heroes, from Woody Guthrie to Green Day. People told him he was weird when they looked at his musical choices, but he never cared. He liked what he liked and that was that.
Holden didn't dress in any particular style. What he was currently wearing was basically his normal type of clothing. Jeans made up his pants, not particularly tight or particularly baggy, though maybe on the tighter side than the baggier side. A t shirt was normally what went on top, sometimes a band shirt or something plain or striped. He wasn't picky but he really only liked t shirts. Turtle necks or collared shirts? No way in hell. He always completed his outfit with a hoodie, like the gray one he wore now. He loved hoodies, like he liked the old converse he wore almost every day. Pretty basic really.

"I'm not a big rap fan" Krystal said softly. "I don't really get it! All they sing about is money, sex, and drugs!" she said rolling her eyes. "Reminds me to much of what my ex only cared about... money, sex, and drugs..." she mumbled. She then shrugged. "Nice, though...." she said softly. "I used to be a country music freak." she said giggling softly. "It's really weird now, it's just, ick... I mean... like" she paused. "For instance, a band named Hinder had a rock song called Lips Of An Angel, then, some country dude made it and I was like, what the hell?!" she smiled. "Not really my style anymore.." she said shrugging. "I don't label, but everyone always calls me either a Goth or a Punk..." she said smirking. "or emo..." she added in rolling her eyes, ignoring a few cuts across her wrists.

"Yeah, I really don't like most rap. My only exceptions are Gym Class Heroes and Lady Sovereign. Gym Class Heroes because... well, they ctually have some melody in their songs for one. Plus Travis writes about real shit, not just the sex and money crap. He writes about touring, and life, and love. You know, like I said, real shit. As for Lady Sov, I can't help loving her. She's a skinny white british girl rapping about how england ain't all crumpets and trumpets. Whats not to love about that?" He gave a slight shrug and laughed. "I don't label either but everyone always calls me 'that weird kid'." He joked. He had never really been labeled.

Krystal giggled at what he said. "Yeah. I like the song Cupids Chokehold by Gym Class Heros. As for Lady Sovereign, I like her song Love Me or Hate Me." She smiled softly at him and then bit her bottom lip. She then giggled. "Ick, labels... who needs em?" she said shrugging. "I don't really see a need in them. They really annoy and bug the hell outta me. Mainly the preps and jocks." she then rolled her eyes. "To stuck up and perfect acting for me."

"Cupid's Chokehold is okay. I like Shoot Down the Stars and Seven Weeks. Oh, and Papercuts." Holden didn't really like songs that got played too much on the radio. It wasn't that he didn't like popular things, it was just that when he heard a song too much, it would begin to bore him. Like Cupid's Chokehold. His favorite song on an album usually ended up being one of the songs that never got air time. He frowned slightly when she continued. Although he agreed with the sentiments about labeling, he couldn't help feeling that she was sort of contradicting herself, saying she hated labels and then talking about preps and jocks. It bothered him slightly, but he didn't say anything about it.

Krystal sighed and glanced out into the water. "Yup, those are good songs to!' she said softly smiling. She then rose a brow as she bean to think. "I wonder if my friends moving here..." she thought outloud. "I must call him!" she said smiling. "But later..." she nodded. "Sorry for that" she said to Holden smiling. "Random outburst. Happens alot... with me that is." she bit her lip and glanced back into the water. Yes she did hate labeling and then again she always ended up with talking about preps or jocks. Oh well, if she was a hippocrite she was a hippocrite, she didn't give a damn anyways.

Her random outburst managed to distract him from the relative annoyance he had started to feel. This was probably good, as he didn't particularly want to dislike her or start a fight of some sort. "Your friend might be moving here?" He questioned with some interest. It was a topic of conversation that wouldn't get either of them possibly angry, so it seemed like a safe thing to ask. He was pretty good at judging safe topics from the dangerous ones.
