A tall boy around the age of 17, or most likely 17, was walking by his lonesome through the crowded paths that led around the mall. He got a few odd looks, but that was nothing out of the ordinary. He was around 6'3 and was unusually skinny. His whole body was lanky, yet at the same time, worked perfectly. If he had breasts, he'd have a figure that any model would be jealous of. But, it wasn't like he went around showing off his figure, no, that would be weird. At the moment, he was wearing a very long pair of quite tight jeans that many would wonder where he could possibly find jeans that looked like that, and fit him well. His legs were long and he had no fat. It couldn't be easy. Over his skinny, long as well, torso he wore a simple brown shirt with his signature black, leather jacket over it. His shoes were pointy and he liked it that way. But, today, it wasn't his height, or even his long auburn hair that was drawing the odd stares. No, it was the fact that he had a large, balloon sculpture hat sitting right atop his head. It was in the shape of a crown, and was several different balloon colors. There had been a man making them for children at a party at the other end of the mall. A William, yes the boy's name is William, passed it, his hand was grabbed by a child, no older than 6 and she had made him sit down at the table with the rest of her little friends. William smiled the entire time. He loved little kids. They were so much fun. The little girl's mother simply smiled at him, and willingly obliged to letting him stay at the party. The kids loved him. He told them stories, and others climbed all over him. It really would be an odd site for the passersby. They'd offered him cake, but he didn't take it. Cake had empty calories. But, he didn't tell the party people that. Plus, he didn't want to take their cake. Literally.
So, once the party wound down, and all that was left to do was make balloon animals, all the little kids convinced the man to make a crown for William. He had no idea why these children loved him so much, especially because he was so much taller than them, but they still loved him. SO, unexpectedly, at William sat in his chair, watching the animals get made, a balloon crown was put upon his head. And he loved it. It was the best balloon crown he'd ever had. Before he left, all the children gave him hugs, except, around his knees because that was about as far as any of them could reach. So, that was he he wound up walking around the mall with a a balloon crown on his head. Though, he hadn't come to the mall for no reason. He came because he was supposed to be meeting his best friend, and most wonderful person, Faith. Though, he'd luckily come two hours earlier than planned because he'd wanted to so some shopping on his own. But, he didn't get much of that done, with the party and all. So, now here he was. Wandering, wondering where he was going to find Faith. But, if she was looking for him as well, he wouldn't be terribly hard to find.

The teenage girl strode through the mall, stride slightly rushed, but still measured. Her long legs skipped up the escalator, talking the stairs two at a time, before she stopped in front of one of her favorite stores: Hot Topic. She walked in, and got a friendly wave from the cashier. She came here so often, it wasn't even funny. The girl was probably one of their best customers, even though she didn't like shopping much. What? A girl that doesn't like shopping? Well, she just didn't see the reason to make her extremely large clothing supply any bigger by buy clothes that it would take her at least a few weeks to actually get around to wearing. She enjoyed shopping, however, when she was with her friends. They could always seem to get her to buy stuff, even the things she didn't want, persay. The outfit she was wearing today, her best friend William, the boy she was meeting her today, had pick out for her. A short-ish skirt, revealing her black-and-white striped tights, which stretched down to mid-calf. Will knew her style, and she would have to say, he did a fairly good job in picking out her clothes. The shirt, she had tweaked just a little bit. Before, it had been a plain black t-shirt, but she had ripped the neck-line, down into a semi-revealing v-neck. It actually looked pretty good, much to her surprise. Her long hair, a shade that ranged from dark to bubblegum pink, was tied back into a long ponytail. She didn't know whether it was her clothes, her hair, her extremely pale skin, much in contrast with her emerald eyes, but people were staring at her as well, then looking away quickly, trying to play it off as if she hadn't just caught them doing the deed.
That was something that made her very mad, all the time. So many people judged others, just based on their looks, and it often lead to wrong impressions. They didn't have a right to do that, because they wouldn't want it done to them. However, she couldn't exactly say she was the perfect angel in that matter. At least she tried not to judge people by the way they dress or look. Anyway, she was walking again, looking around, and stores, and at faces, trying to find her best friend, a smile on her face, just at the thought of being able to see him. He was her all time favorite person, and she hung out with him all the time. As she looked into a store, something colorful was in the corner of her eye. She looked over, brow furrowed a bit, and put a hand over her mouth, giggling, when she realized that the colorful thing was a balloon crown, which just so happened to be majestically seated upon the top of William's head. She could tell his tall, lanky form anywhere. He wasn't facing her, so she creeped up behind him, stepping up on tiptoes to put her hands over his eyes, and said, laughing softly, "Guess who? And if you get it wrong, I get to wear your hat." Not that she would really take his hat or anything. [/blockquote]

Will, himself, had gone into Hot Topic just a little while before the party, though he hadn't bought anything. He came very close to buying a set of fake mustaches that were hanging on the wall. They would be positively the most fun things ever to wear, and he guessed Faith would even wear them with him. They both were a little bit outrageous, Will being more so than Faith a lot of the time, though. He was always hyper, and always happy. Or, at least, that's how he looked to the outside world. It was even what he'd convinced himself of. That he was happy, and that he was going to be happy for a long time. Though, in the back of his mind there was always something nagging at him, wanting him to be sad. But, once Will convinced himself of something, it was terribly hard to unconvince himself of it. That was both a very good thing, and a very bad thing for him. It was a good thing because he liked being happy, and he liked having friends because of his spontaneity and weirdness. Friends who like you for that, and for everything else, were the best kind. But, the fact that Will could convince himself of things was bad as well, because he'd convinced himself that food made him weak. He'd convinced himself that if he ate it, he'd be a quitter. So, even if he was trying his hardest to get of his broken train of anorexia, it just didn't seem to work. Not eve Faith knew about it, and she was his best friend. He was ashamed of it, and even if he wouldn't gain a pound if he did eat-his metabolism worked like that-he still didn't like eating.
Back to Hot Topic. Not literally, but the train of thought about Hot Topic. He'd decided not to buy the mustaches, for what reason, he couldn't remember. If he'd been with Faith, or if he was Faith, he'd feel obliged to buy something. They loved her there, everyone knew her. Will found it kind of funny, that she went in there so often that every single worker knew her face and her name. Will had never gone to store that much. Well, maybe except for the music store back in Chicago, but that was way in the past. Jasper had worked at that music store. Fucking Jasper. No, Will didn't want to think about him anymore, not when he was already happy. He just needed that boy to be erased, everything would be better if that was possible. But, it wasn't, so Will just had to stop thinking about him on his own accord.
Will recognized where he was now, back over by Hot Topic. He thought his feet led him there because they wanted the mustaches as much as he did. He laughed at this thought, getting even more odd stares. He knew he had to be close to it by now, but Will often was a very oblivious lad. He forgot things easily, and sometimes even forgot where he was. It could be dangerous, but it hadn't caused anything tragic, yet. Will sighed and looked around once more, adjusting the crown to sit on his head better. He then stuck his hands in the pockets of his unyielding jeans, before he felt another pair of hands wrap around his face. He gave a little yelp. but then smiled. He knew who it was, he'd know that voice anywhere. But, he definitely wasn't going to let her have his crown. It made him feel special. "Could it be my little Faithy?" he asked loudly, a wide smile on his face. Other times, he'd pretend he didn't know what it was. But, not this time. Not when his crown was at stake.

Faith wasn’t exactly very spontaneous or anything. Sure, she’d have her random moments, but everyone did. If you wanted her to do something daring, she would do it. That was her ticket. She loved doing things for the thrills she got. That little bit of fear in the back of your mind, and you wonder to yourself ‘Why am I doing this?’ just before you take the plunge. Most people would call it recklessness, and Faith had to agree. She was reckless. She loved doing reckless things. She was only 17, and she’d already been sky diving, bungee jumping, deep sea scuba diving, and countless other little things. She’d stopped doing the bigger things like that, however, when Michael died. Michael. Now that was someone SHE didn’t need to think about, because whenever she thought about him, it either lead to hardcore crying, anger, or a major guilt trip. Lately, it had been all three. Besides, Will had already been with her all the times she’d broken down, and she was sure he wouldn’t want to be there to see her in shambles again.
Besides, being happy was fun, and she didn’t want to ruin the fun, especially when it promised to get better, all because whenever Will and her were together, his spontaneity rubbed off on her, and she forgot most things that worried her, and was able to focus on the present fun. She would have worn the mustache with him. She would have giggled endlessly until she had forgotten it was on her face, and people stared at her strangely, and she would have gotten mad, and then realized it was still on, then giggle some more. Faith took her hands from his eyes, and turned him around, grinning, saying, “It is me! Wow. You must have ESP.” She joked, beaming up at him. She didn’t have to crane her neck way back to meet his eyes, like most people did. She was fairly tall, standing at about 5’9”. She definitely wasn’t exactly ‘little’. She wrapped her arms around her friends waist, giving him a huge squeeze, then saying, “How is my William-cakes?” She giggled. She had fallen into calling him that sometimes, even though she wasn’t sure whether or not he exactly liked it. It was still funny to say, though.

Faith, most times was much more reserved than Will. She'd gone through a lot more than him, and had a better reason to not always be happy. He liked he best when she was happy, but that would only make sense. Sad people were never that fun to be around, unless you were very odd and got pleasure from other's pain. Not physical pain, because then you would be sadistic; but emotional pain. If they were down, you were up. You weren't a true friend if that's how it went down. So, Will loved being around her when she was happy, but he also loved being around her when she was sad. Not for the fact that she was sad, but for the fact that he always liked being around her. He could be her shoulder to cry on, he would always be there for her. Comfort was one thing Will was good at. And for someone like Faith, who needed it often, it was good that they were friends.
As she turned him around, he grinned even wider. He liked that he didn't have to look nearly as far down as he did to some people. That was probably one of the main reasons Faith had been so attractive to him as a friend. If he had to constantly bend down, well, let's just say he wouldn't enjoy that very much. He squeezed her back, but not too tight in case his crown were to fly off. That would be bad, and he'd be quiet upset. "I'm good, Miss Faithy-Face!" he replied in an upbeat tone. They both had the oddest nick names for one another, but it was just part of what made their friendship so strong. "Hey hey hey!" he said excitedly, pulling back from her embrace. "Did you see my hat?" he asked, pointing to it. He tried to look up at it himself, but remembered that eyes couldn't do that.
