"Jaaaakkkkeeee" she whined, coughing into her hoodie sleeve. Sleep deprivision written all over her face, "Why do you need me here? You're a big boy," something clicked in her conjested mind. "Is Jakey afraid of needles?" she asked, looking over at him behind the wheel of the car, her nose burried in her hoodie which she had stolen from the boy sitting next to her. Gabby felt like an incubus of viraling plague. Like death warmed over, like she was being deprived of chicken noodle soup and Nightmare Before Christmas in her dorm curled up under a blanket next to the space heater. But she was here, being supportive of her boyfriend, the boy who had stolen her heart and not broken it for once.
She had sucked it up, changed into real clothes, put on makeup, all that jazz. She pulled herself off of the couch when she heard the knock at her door, her only mitivation was that she'd be with Jake again. Gabby looked out the window at the dark skies, pouring rain hitting the cold glass window acting as a hard pillow for her pounding head. The mixture of a hangover and a cold rounding the corner to a fever almost. She looked back at Jake, brightening up slightly.
She smiled at the boy, pushing a few strands of hair behind her ear. She really did love being with him; she liked having someone to look pretty for, someone to look forward to seeing, someone who did no wrong in her eyes. It started as just a one night stand and he appeared in her dorm again, not looking for anything but to talk. That really made Gabby happy, the fact that she had found someone who didn't just go back to her for more of what they had gotten earlier.

Jake was afraid of needles. Horribly afraid. But, he wouldn’t let that get in the way of something he really wanted to do… despite the pain. Sure, he’d heard getting a tattoo wasn’t that bad, but you never knew. Besides, he seemed more… well, susceptible to pain that most people. Now, he was a girl. He was probably pretty tough in some people’s eyes. But, put him in front of a needle, he would probably have a heart attack and die. So, he decided he needed moral support. He thought of calling a friend, just to have there, but then decided on Gabby. It would be a good incentive not to pass out. He always strived to be his best around her, because.. well… he pretty much loved her. He hadn’t said it yet. He was waiting for the most perfect, most romantic time possible. God, he was cheesy.
When Jake had called her, he hadn’t realized, to his benefit, that she was sick, but when he had seen her, looking a bit red nosed, and her eyes a bit glazed, he had immediately opted that she stay home and sleep. But, she had said reasonably, she was already dressed, and that it would be a waste to go and just sleep for the rest of the day. He had guessed that she was just sucking up for him, and it felt a bit ironic, at least, to him it did. So he had taken her in the car, turned it on warm, shed his jacket, and off they went, downtown, to the tattoo shop.
Jake was amazingly happy just to be in her presence, as usual. It was mostly always that way, because he loved seeing her smile, making her smile, seeing her laugh, making her laugh. It was something that he wanted to do for a very long time, because Gabby just made him so amazingly happy. It was crazy. Now, he was going to get her name tattooed on his ass, and that was the ultimate sign of affection. Hahahahha. Not really. He would never go that far, for any girl. That was just stupid, but that didn’t change how much he was beginning to love her. It was strange, just a warm feeling filling him up completely. He loved it. As he drove up to the tattoo store, he stopped, picked up her hand, and kissed her fingers, leaning over, not caring that she was sick, just wanting to feel her lips against his, and then they touched, a gossamer kiss, and he pulled away, squeezing her hand, and then opening the car door, walking around and opening up hers, saying, “Here we are. I promise to take you back to your dorm after this, and personally drop you into your bed, and make you something warm and good.”

Gabby slumped over herself, looking up at him with glazed over eyes, still able to get a smile in though. She had real feelings for this boy, still in denial that she loved him. Seventeen years old, not supposed to know what love was yet. But still, she felt like she knew when she was around him. Having to say good bye to him when either one of them needed to leave seemed like the hardest thing she'd have to do in her life every time. There were times when they'd spend days together and not have planned it. She had been to his place and spent the night, just falling asleep with him, innocent things. She had met the aunt he raved about and his family, she loved them. They treated her like she was a part of the family, slightly feeling like she was more a part of their family than she was of her own... But that'd just be wierd.
She listened to his offer, perking up slightly. "Promise?" she asked, lifting her head up from being burried in the black hoodie. The sound of being under her covers, loaded up on cough medication, with Jake and something warm. Her favorite part was the being with Jake part, in his arms, getting him sick, but just being with him. She hoisted herself out of the car, giving a tiny tired giggle at herself stumbling.
Gabby shut the car door behind her, linking arms with Jake without him offering and slightly leaning against him, its hard to sleep when you've been coughing up a storm for the past few nights. Gabby walked into the Tattoo shop, waving slightly at the girl behind the counter who had done a few of hers. Gabby liked to hide her tattoos, not even telling Jake about some of them even if he might have seen them.

Jake was a bit worried when Gabby slumped over, staring, unfocused, at him, through glazed eyes. Okay, maybe a little worried didn't quite cover it. He was beginning to regret taking her out when she was so sick. Wow. He was such a loser, taking his very sick girlfriend with him to get his first tattoo. Jake sighed, and tugged Gabby closer to him, trying to provide her with his own warmth. He hated the fact that he had done this now, especially when she was doing so badly. He nodded his head at her, and said, "Of course I promise. And if your roommate will let me, I will stay with you tonight. On the couch of course, drinking loads of Airborne." He teased lightly, kissing the top of her head.
He walked towards the tattoo place, anxious and afraid... but only a little of the latter. He would never, ever admitt the fact that his palms were getting clammy and he was on the verge of freaking out just a bit. Jake just tugged Gabby closer to him, and smiled at the girl when they walked through the door. Quickly, he explained that this was his first tattoo, and he wanted to see any books they had of a tattoo he could get. The lady nodded, kindly, and then handed him a very, very thick book. "Well, Gab, time to pick my tattoo." He murmured, flipping through the pages, still supporting a bit of her weight.

Gabby wrapped her arms around him as they walked in, nuzzling her nose into his shoulder when he pulled her closer. She gave a tiny giggle at his comment; "My roomie won't care, he's pretty chill, and you might have to deal with me around two a.m. when I get bored sitting alone in my room because I can't sleep because of the coughing," she said, sticking her tongue out at him slightly at the last part. She wouldn't want to bother Jake though if he was sleeping, she'd feel bad about it in some way.
Gabby hopped onto the counter, wincing slightly at the slam of the book on the counter. Loud noises made a headache linger in her head for a few moments when she was in a state like this. Upon hearing that he had nothing picked out yet she eyed him; "You came here with no idea of what to do?" she asked. She could be quite catty when she was sick, but she tried to lighten up with Jake.

Jake nodded, saying, “Well good.. because I would stay even if he did care. Because I’m cool like that.” Jake smiled softly, then said, “And I don’t mind. I’m a fitful sleeper anyway.” It was true. For the longest time when he was a child, he’d had insomnia. Now, he didn’t have it nearly as bad, but it caused for long nights, laying awake, falling asleep, tossing and turning. He didn’t know why he had it. It just kind of happened. So, staying up with her wouldn’t bother him that much.
He looked at her, a little bit of a frown on his face, and he said, “Well, I have an IDEA… but.. yeah.” He said bashfully. He wanted to get ‘Forever’ tattooed on his wrist. He’d never say the real reason why, but whatever. That was going to be his choice. He ran a hand through his hair, and absentmindedly looked through the pages of tattoos, not really looking. Geez. This was going to be interesting.
