The joint had long since passed it's usefulness and sat now forgotten in the ashtray on the window seat. Even though his parents weren't home and wouldn't be for the week, it would be best to not make the room incredibly smokey. It would be rather sickening to him to sleep in a room covered with the stench of weed. It was amazing that even the small wisps of air that hadn't escaped through the window hadn't smoked up the place. With the amount that Chris had been putting in his body lately, it was actually rather amazing to find a time when he wasn't holding a joint in his hand. By this point, he really only kept smoking because he got himself addicted to that feeling of being high. It took so much longer now for him to actually get that normal rush, that he had been beginning to experiment a little bit more with other sorts of drugs. While nothing incredibly hardcore had ever passed between his pale lips, he wasn't exactly being safe about the things he was putting in.
Now he was standing in the mirror looking at himself to make sure he looked, well normal. Nothing had changed too much in his general appearance since when he'd started his constant smoking, but slight changes were noticeable. After deciding that he looked fine, he stood up straight and ran a hand through his hair. With a small smile he picked up an unmarked pill bottle from the dresser. After pulling out whatever it was, he didn't know he'd just gotten it from a friend, he popped one into his mouth. His hand grasped a bottle of Sprite next to him; It was lifted to his lips and the pill swallowed. He turned on his heel and headed downstairs now; Downstairs he sat down on the couch. Now, he was awaiting the arrival of one of his best friends ever. The girl was Gabby a girl who'd easily become close to his heart in his time here.
He really didn't know exactly what would happen with them today. Of course it wouldn't be anything sexual since well, Chris was as gay as they came. Leaning back on the couch he let out a small sigh and closed his eyes getting a little bit sleepy. he knew that a rush would come soon. The pill just needed some time to dissolve in his body.

It seemed as if drugs took a huge part in the lives of high school kids. They destroyed lives every day and were about to destroy more. The culprits just didn't know it yet. Drugs had been in Gabby's life since she was fifteen, a casual user by the age sixteen. She used them as a therapy, as a scapegoat; she used cocaine to get a quick high and heroine to come down from the coke it. She could control her needs for the drugs, cutting back lately seeing as nothing bad had happened. She had some great friends, an amazing boyfriend, decent grades and all that jazz.
Gabby now just used the drugs at parties to get that extra kick. She went heavy on the usage when she fell into somewhat of a depressed mood, when she didn't even want to look at anyone. Heroine was her main fling, the stuff had more capability of killing some one on the first try than anything she had heard of. The stuff was good to her, it always had been, it never betrayed her, just left track marks. She was skilled at hiding them though, injecting the substence directly into her blood stream rather than snorting or smoking.
Gabby had missed Chris, it had been a few weeks since she had seen her friend. This boy was like her brother, she definatley saw him as a sibling figure. She could share everything with the boy, laugh at anything, cry at anything and he would still accept her as she was. She'd hate for anything to come between her and Chris, it would break her heart. She had one of those feelings, however. The one people get in the pit of their stomach when they're sure something bad is about to happen.
It sickened Gabby, she just thought she'd get some call from Boston, not expecting something to be going on in her life here. Things were just too damn good. She was bringing herself up for the let down. She only focused now on the cold air around her as she walked to her friend's house, her bag filled with some things the two could use if the day got to the point where they needed an aid to assist in the fun.
She walked down the suburban streets, looking up at the cloudy and over cast skies. She loved these types of days, not knowing where they'd go. She knew the way to her friend's house, having been there before; no idea why she was walking. Walking cleared her mind, gave her endorphins and gave her fresh air before she and her friend got locked inside his house, doing whatever it was the two crazy teenagers did. She walked up his driveway, pulling her black hoodie closer when a gust hit her body. Gabby rang the doorbell, waiting for Chris to acknowledge her.

Chris's morning had been, well okay. He'd woken up and picked at some breakfast before getting dressed. It had been slow. Life had been going slightly slow for him. It seemed that everyday that Gabby couldn't hang out, Jake couldn't either. Of course he never believed that they were hanging out together. Other then those two, Chris really didn't know anybody else around here. So, he'd been doing well, whatever ideas random came into his mind.
So, with a small smile, he stood up. Hearing the sound of the doorbell, he let out a squeal of excitement. He pranced to the door and opened it up pretty much attacking his friend. "Gabby!" he said giggling as he kissed her on the cheek. "I haven't seen you in so long," he said backing up and looking at her for a moment. She looked great as always. Chris couldn't help but to be slightly jealous of the other's looks. "Come in come in," he said pulling her inside in a rather over excited manner. The door soon closed and he tried not to freak out too much. "How have you been?" he asked cocking his head to the side in a rather charming fashion. At this point he had moved to be sitting down on the couch leaning back slightly.
He was feeling a little bit twitchy today. His fingers moved over the couch and soon he was standing up. After a quick trip to the fridge, he came back holding a coke. "Want one?" he asked realizing that he'd forgotten that Gabby was there for about a minute. "Haha, sorry I'm all scatter brained," he added with a little bit of a laugh. "I've been so like dead to the world lately. All my friends are always busy," he added with a small pout. "But I'm glad we get to hang out now," he added as he sat on the couch and started to drink.
