Peyton just gave a small laugh, shaking her head at him. He made her laugh alot, she didn't know why. Maybe it was just the fact that he shared a very similar if not the same sense of humor. "Well thanks for extending that curtosey to me" she said, giving another small laugh at Holden. She pushed her dark bangs away, glancing around the room. "So..." she started, holding back another laugh. Silences always did that to her.

"So." Holden agreed pleasantly, because he always repeated what people said when they said things like 'so...'. It was a habit of his. Still, he could be useful at times and now he felt like being useful. "So lets do something. Like um um we could..." He went quiet as he thought about it. "We cooould climb on my roof, oooor watch my fish, orrr dig for treasure in my backyard, or throw rocks at cops, or I dunno. Now I'm all out of ideas." He heaved a huge sigh, as if the effort of coming up with those bizarre and really quite stupid ideas had been too much for him. "You got any?"

She shrugged, giving a tiny laugh at some of his options for what they could do. "I dunno," she started, "I mean it is your house and I don't think your parents would be too thrilled if we dug up their lawn" she said with a tiny sarcasticly disappointed shrug. "I haven't been on a roof since I was thirteen, back when the dinosaurs were still around" it was only five years prior, but she did miss just hanging out on the roof with her friends or with her dad talking about nothing of importence and just enjoying their simple lives.

"Well then, let's go on the roof!" Holden said decisively. He loved sitting on roofs. The best was in big cities, when you were on the roof of a tall building, but any roof was pretty good in his mind, even the relatively short one of his new house. He liked the views being on a roof provided. It was a whole different perspective than what people saw most days. You were looking down on the things you normally were eye level with. And he loved just lying on a roof and looking at the sky. Clouds in the daytime, stars at night. The sky held an endless amount of entertainment to him. There was just something special about being on a roof. He couldn't put his finger on what it was, but it was there. "Come on, there's easy access through my window."
